Say Hello To A Newbie...

Samaya are looking at skincare in a new light. They consider it to be more involved in your lifestyle, considering us as whole beings rather than a skin type - which is quite interesting. They have developed a quiz which will catagorise you into three "Dosha" catagories - VATA, PITTA, KAPHA. I won't try to explain it more than that, because I'm sure I won't do it justice, but you can read more here.

I'm Kapha, which is Water & Earth:

"Laidback and easy-going with a stable, steady energy level. Often has a strong physical frame but can be lethargic or apathetic if out of balance. Takes a relaxed, reasonable approach to life and can be compassionate, gentle and kind. Skin is usually thick and pale, can be radiant and glowing, but with clogged pores or excess oil when out-of-balance."

The Samaya Ayurveda Kapha Hydrating Cleanser was recommended to me, and was a welcome addition. I mostly use this in the morning - although it can remove makeup, I see this more of a second cleanse option or a morning cleanser. Designed to cleanse while hydrating, this is perfect for those days when your skin is feeling dry and worn out.

When using this you can definitely see this adding hydration to your skin. Once washed gently off with warm water it leaves your skin feeling moisturised, soft and smooth. I have found my skin has been really enjoying this - especially during the colder days where my skin is more likely to become dry.

The scent (like my Dosha) is Earth. It reminds me of mud pies when I was little. Playing in dirt - brings back all the memories. I've really been enjoying it.

"A unique formulation providing hydration while cleansing and purifying skin. Developed with powerful Ayurvedic botanicals such as Ashwagandha, Sandalwood, Vetivert and Frankincense, this cleanser melts into the skin, helping to remove make-up and lift impurities, leaving skin feeling balanced, purified, softer and more radiant."

Pros: Beautiful cleanser which removes the skin of any and all impurities while hydrating the skin. Leaves it moisturised and feeling soft and smooth.

Cons: The pump isn't the best, doesn't distribute product evenly - can be frustrating. The smell may also be a con - I enjoy it, but others may not.

Is this something that you would try?
