January Favourites 2019

AAAAAH HELLO 2019.

It's currently the 17th January. I'm PRE-WRITING content. Which is a huge deal to me, I'm usually soooooooooo lazy with content. I'm usually a solid write it the night before kinda chick. So, I'm hoping I still have all the feels for these for the next two weeks, cause lets face it, it would suck if I changed my mind now. I mean I took the photos already. But I can't imagine I will, I just get good vibes from these.

January Skincare Saviours

All the new Products!

This month has been such a big skincare month, I've tried out some new and incredible products, and my skin is loving them. My aim for 2019 is to attempt to calm down my skincare, but it seems that won't be happening - especially when you have such incredible brands to try out. So here is what I have been loving this month.

First Impressions of Dermalogica Skincare

This brand is giving me ALL the feels.

Some brands spark interest long before I have the opportunity to try them. Dermalogica is one brand I know from through friends - which is rare nowadays. Two of my close friends are obsessed with Dermalogica, so needless to say - when Dermalogica contacted me I couldn't quite believe they wanted to work with little me. Plus it would finally give me the chance to try out some of their best bits - and finally give my friends the chance to say how right they were about the products they love.

Clinique iD Custom Blend Hydrator

Say hello to the new kid on the block.

Purchasing skincare now feels like a special treat.. one which I probably shouldn't do, but still, special none the less... being a blogger does mean we have the incredible opportunity to try out some absolutely amazing brands and products. This has left me with enough skincare to supply a small town, but still.. every now and then a product catches my eye and I just have to try it for myself. The Clinique iD range was one of these launches for me.

Project Pan 2019 #TeamProjectPan

Hello 2019, Hello new Project Pan.

Well, last years Project Pan kinda came to an epic fail. I just stopped, I forgot. So it was far easier just to start over and focus on a new Project for the new year. So welcome to my 2019 Project Pan.

Kat and Hailey from BeautyNews decided to do an interactive Project Pan called #TeamProjectPan and I thought I would join in - but maybe not as hardcore as they do! I'm definitely up for trying it though.... Worth checking out their video here if you haven't seen it already.

I thought I would go for a mixture of products this year, a good mix of cream, base, powder, new, older. I wanted to see if I could finish any of them, and go from there. No pressure... just a trial to see how long it would take me to use up some products.

First up was the base products. I've had the YSL All Hours Foundation for ages now, and it's about time it was finished up. I really can't see this taking too long - especially as I don't have much left of it. I'm pretty sure this will be finished by the first check-in, which will be a boost.

I am also including both the Urban Decay Naked Skin Pink Corrector and the Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer. Both I purchased over a year ago and was pushed to the side when I discovered Tarte Shape Tape. These shouldn't be too difficult to use, as I enjoy both - just have better now. Time to finish these up.

The Mario Badescu Facial Spray is included here simply to clear up some space. The packaging is pretty bulky, and I have a fair few sprays needing used up, so I figured tackling this one first might be a good move.

The Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick is a firm favourite for contouring. But it is also known for breaking - which mine has done. I think I would like to finish it up and see the bottom of a few more cream bronze products. I've used a fair bit of this one so far, so I can't see this being too difficult to finish.

Lipstick Queen Frog Prince is definitely more lip balm than a lipstick. Which is why it is appearing here at almost untouched. I figured this would be perfect for on placement - a touch of colour without being too much, easy to apply and pretty once on. Oh and for those of you who may be unfamiliar with these lipsticks - don't worry, it isn't actually green. More a very subtle sheer pink once applied onto the lips.

My bottle of Chanel Chance Eau Tendre has been in my stash for far too long now, to the point I am questioning if it is still the same as it was. At just over half way to go, I'm sure this won't take me too long. The scent is beautifully fresh, floral and feminine. I love this scent, so much that this was a repurchase. But I need to stop keeping them "for good" and just start using what I love.

The Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise in Bette is brand new in my stash, but in honesty, I added it into this just to see the progress I could make in a few months with a cream eyeshadow product. The shade is perfect for a one wash colour over the lids, so I figured why not - let's see how much progress we can make.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure is my nemesis. I both love and hate this product. I love the shade, the formula, everything about it. But it has been the only blush I have used in what feels like 100 years. yet still no pan. This will be in yet another Pan because I WILL finish it. Or hit pan at least.

Finally, MAC Beaming Blush Extra Dimension Skin Finish. I feel like I could potentially hit pan on this. Mostly because I've used it loads already - I know I love it, and I know with some effort I may just manage it. Well maybe by the end of the year.

Have you considered doing a project pan this year? Which products would you include?

YouTube Clear Out & Refresh

Ah YouTube, how I love you.

I have found my love of YouTube has never decreased, but I have found my tastes change over what I am viewing. With this, my subscription box has been a place of clutter recently. Channels which have changed to utter poop, and channels which I have simply outgrown - either way, I was in desperate need of a YouTube tidy up.

Natural Skincare With Antipodes

Antipodes - The Natural, Vegan approach to Skincare.

I really love a more natural approach to skincare, and Antipodes are exactly that. I have been lucky enough to work with them before too - you can view that post here

Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks + Swatches

Lipstick Perfection

I swear there is no better feeling than purchasing a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick. That sleek classic packaging is utter perfection, the shape of the bullet, the weight of the packaging. It really is something special - and something everyone should have in their collection.

I have previously done a post on my Charlotte Tilbury lipstick collection (I did lip swatches too) You can view that post here. Buuut, I have bought a few more since then, and I figured it would be the perfect excuse to take some pretty photos and have a chat about them - because who doesn't love a lipstick post?

Life on Film #4

Developing Photos Really Is Fun!

It's been SO long since I had photos developed, so it was a lovely surprise to find some of these. Here is everything from September to Christmas. A fair lot has happened since then, my baby cousin turned 21 - and had the most amazing cake. I changed my hair, I started university. My best friend had a baby. I turned 28. Then CHRISTMAS! All the fun. I sure do love developing my pictures when the time comes. Hope you enjoy a little bit more of a personal update...

A Christmas Candle Showdown: Diptyque Vs Jo Malone

Gulp, the great showdown.

I honestly cannot believe I have both. It seems to odd to look at them both, in all their glory. I am very lucky this year to be the proud owner of both pine scented candles from the big brand candles - well amongst us bloggers anyway. I feel like we all covet both Jo Malone and Diptyque, and both set you back around £50 they aren't the cheapest - a definite treat moment.

Beauty Advent Calendars: My Final Thoughts.

Sometimes I enjoy writing up posts that I know future me, needs to read. Before she reaches over for her card and splashes the big bucks on a fancy calendar, its good to have a little bit of reflection on the bits I actually liked, at the time. I know next October me will have forgotten all about the bits I didn't enjoy as much.... so here it is, the reality check.

Christmas Beauty Buys + Gifts

It's Still Christmas Time, right?

I thought I would take the time to go over some goodies I was gifted or picked up with my Christmas pennies, who doesn't love a beauty haul. It's been such a long time since I actually went over bits I have been picking up myself, so I thought I would do a throwback on here highlighting some of the new releases or old favourites I have opted to spend my money on - or was kindly given as a gift.
