Urban Decay Lash Freak Mascara Review*

A New Mascara Launch!

Say hello to the new addition from Urban Decay. They have launched a new mascara boasting volumising and lengthening properties. They very kindly sent me it to try, and I was so excited to give it a go! They describe it as: 

"An intensely volumising mascara with an asymmetrical brush that lengthens, lifts, and curls lashes for a dramatic, wide-eyed effect. This ultra-pigmented, flake-resistant mascara creates a look of up to 23.6 times more volume and up to 40% more length for bold lashes. The asymmetrical brush was designed to load every eyelash for extreme volume and definition. The tip defines and separates even the tiniest of individual lashes, while the curved side adds lift at the lash root. The intensely black long-wear formula lasts up to 20 hours; it’s smudge-proof and sweatproof."

As an early 00's chick, this mascara screamed high school to me. I remember applying layers after layers to build up that desired clumpy look - and to me, this is such a throwback look. One I'm shocked to see making a reappearance. This look isn't one for me - simply because I've spent far too long attempting to try and separate while lengthening. 

The formula for me was wetter than the usual, but definitely dries quickly and holds a curl. The wand was the most problematic, I found myself being clumsy, I just couldn't get the look I wanted from it, I made a mess and I didn't enjoy using it. I couldn't seem to get enough product off the wand, I even wiped it down and tried again - and I just couldn't make it work for me. For me, I don't want a mascara to be difficult to use and hard to apply, I want it to be quick and easy. 

Overall, it's a miss from me. But if you love a fuller look - this is the one for you! Hey, I might just be useless at using it! I typically love Urban Decay, but I can't love everything - and this just proves it.
