July's Favourites

1. Lindt Excellence Caramel with a touch of Sea Salt (£1.89 - Tesco) - This stuff is incredible. Next time you see it try it - I promise it will not disappoint!

2. My Gran's Necklace - My Gran brought this back from Alaska last year and decided to give me it for my birthday. At first I wasn't a fan, but with it's hefty price tag I felt like I had to wear it, and I'm so glad I did. It just feels heavy, pretty. It goes with everything and is the perfect length. I get constant compliments on it and because it is unique - no one else has anything like it.

3. Original Source Mango (£2.20) -  I thought I had settled on my top Shower Gel a few months back with the Original Source Pineapple & Coconut, but this one just gives me instant throwbacks to summer ice lolly's as a child. Stealing all of my Gran's Del Monte Mango lollies or the Soleros ones from her freezer. Ah-Mazing. Summer in a bottle, go grab some.

4. Super Facialist By Una Brennan Vitamin C Cleansing Oil (£10.99) - Love Love Love this stuff. I swear I can hear my skin sighing in relef whenever I apply it. Can view my full post all about it here.

5. Mac Saint Germain (£15.50) a very cool toned pastel pink which somehow just works with my skin tone, I love it. I would normally stay well clear of such a pinky pink. But I must admit I am semi obsessed with this.

6. MAC Viva Glam II  (£15.50) Mac describe this as "Muted pink-beige with shimmer" I wouldnt say it was shimmery at all, I have been rocking this all month. Very typically me, total contrast to the Saint Germain.

7. Elizabeth Arden "Sailor Girl" (£3.99 - TKMaxx) Limited editions are evil evil things. But this one is too good not to include. Click the title for my full review on it.

8. MAC Beauty Powder in "Pearl Blossom" (£20.50) - There is no words for how much I am in love with this. My heart is broken now that it has sold out, gone forever into the MAC limited edition atmosphere. I'm scared to use it and see pan (even though that will be a while yet) Can view my blog post on it here

9. MAC Eyeshadow in "Nylon" (£10.00) - The highlight to beat all other eyeshadow, brow highlights. It ticks every single box, what more can a girl ask for? :)

So what have you been loving this month? What do I need to add to my wish list for August? let me know in the comment section below.

Product Review: Superfacialist by Una Brennan, Vitimin C Cleansing Oil

This product has one hell of a long name, but damn is it good.

I picked this up on offer in boots around a month ago determined to find something cheaper than my Oskia cleansing gel for when it finishes *sob*

Surprising I have now been reaching for this day and night... I haven't used my Oskia in weeks... so it must be good.

The Una Brennan Vitimin C cleansing oil is orange in colour and orange in scent, as an oil you may be scared to give it a try, but I promise it will not leave you greasy. Once washed off it leaves your skin soft and clean, blemishes decreased and skin feeling hydrated.

There is very few products I use on my face that I can actually feel working, but this is one.. I can actually feel my face thanking me.. sounds silly I know, but try it I promise it will not disappoint, you will feel yourself standing rubbing your face for far too long.. just enjoying the process completely.

Have you tried this before? What's your thoughts on it? Let me know in the comment section below :)

You can find yours here for £10.99

Project Life: June

June

June was a fun month. Finally the sun hit scotland, so AJ & I took advantage and headed to the beach, photo's are always amazing on sunny days, makes me camera happy.

The rest of the sunny days were spent feasting on ice cream in St Andrew's with Iain and my mum. I even braved the bus one sunny day. AJ was buzzing to be on a bus, me not so much... the poor passengers sitting around him listening to him squeel the whole 30 minutes to St Andrews. The joy of being 3!

For anyone going to St Andrews, make sure you head to Janetta's... the ice cream is out of this world awesome. I promise you will love it!

The main event in June was a 5 hour car ride to Manchester with this belter. We travelled down and spent the night to go to Heaton Park to see the Courteeners. Iain loves them, so of course I happily went along too, I must admit it was a really good night, Iain just knows how to make me smile, singing at the top of his lungs jumping up and down like no one is watching. Complete Magic.

This month's project life I opted to keep quite simple using cards from the original Honey Kit. Do you love project life yet? Let me know your thoughts in the comment section below :)

Face Of the Day: A Basic Grey Smokey

I have been using my Mac palette constantly this month. Back in June I opted for a grey, "Typographic" and it's perfect for doing a grey smokey eye teamed up with Shroom all over the lid then Nylon to highlight... Such a pretty look.

This is my standard eye for if I want to rock a bold lip, or I want to have neautral makeup. I think it looks awesome with some contouring and a nude lip too.

It is super easy to do, grey in the crease then blend out, get yourself a felt tip liner for some easy flicks and a kohl black liner for along your lash line then finish up with some mascara!

This was earlier this week with AJ, I just love it, and him of course. What a cutie pie!

What do you use as your go to neautral look? Do you have one? Let me know in the comments below :)

Project Life

Since August 2013 I have been documenting my life in pictures.

After spending 20 minutes with me you will figure out how obsessed with taking pictures I am, my iPhone is constantly screaming at me to clear up some space, my iPad too, 6GB of just pictures slowing up my phone.. then god knows how much on my Laptop too.

So back in 2013, I was complaining at the amount of photos I have, but my lack of organisation and ability to view them. So my lovely friend Kerri introduced me to an american concept called project life.

The idea is basic - but beautiful. I can look back over the past two years in detail, what I have done, my achievements, moments where I never want to forget a thing, and moments so ordinary that they would be forgotten about without writing them down.

You completely control it all, you can do it weekly, monthly, seasonally? You can pick your layout, pick your cards or the option to embelish, stamp or just go all plain. The options are endless so completely unique to you.

So this will begin a new monthly feature in my blog, a way of sharing with you all what I have done with my month... and hopefully encourage you to run to your nearest Hobbycraft and grab the supplies to start one of your own!

Here is some spreads I have loved over the past two years.

December 2013: this was featuring the Studio Calico Subscription, You can embelish, cut and spend so much time getting an amazing look. I used to love spending 2-3 hours a week on these :)

August 2014: Sometimes its all about the photos. This was a day out to celebrate my Son's 3rd birthday and my cousins 17th. It was a sunny day at Blairdrummond. This took less than 2 minutes to complete. I think it looks fab! :)

October 2014: Family holiday in Tenerife, pictures up and looking fantastic, I love the mix with the bright colours during summer.

February 2015: This is more my style at the moment, simple with some embelishments, looks fab and documents everything the way I want to remember it. This was the Beauty Chat Live in Glasgow, was so lovely to meet LilyPebbles  & ViviannaDoesMakeup.

April 2015: a very typical normal week. Remembering moments that would have been forgotten about.

June 2015: Project life is also fab for storing tickets and other momentos. I try to include them as much as I can, this was from last month at the Corteeners. Was Such an amazing trip.

So there it is, look out for my latest month's update over the next few days. What do you think of it all? does it make you want to start your own? or do you already have one?

Nails: Revlon Full House 320

I cannot believe how in love with this polish I am,

This was ONE coat, one. No streaks, no problem. Amazing brush and fab application. So impressed, I may need to try another colour from this range....

As for the colour dont you think it just screams summertime? I can see this being a new favourite :)

Face Of the Day: MAC Steamy

As much as I love my gold tone brown eyes there just has to be times where I change it up.

In my most recent MAC haul (you can view this here) I decided to mix up my palette with a few bolder colours. One of which was Steamy, a Mermaid blue as I would describe it.

It's definitely one of these shades which you can use by itself. It has so many colours within it, so its just beautiful as an all over wash across the lid.

This look was super easy and quick. Ideal for a quick bold look which doesn't require too much maintaining. All over winner (again) Well Done Mac.

Pancakes

Pancakes:

The answer why my fat ass is not any slimmer this month. There is just something so lovely about making homemade pancakes, but I need to ditch this addiction ASAP. Kidding myself that this is healthy just because I throw some fruit into it.

For those who simply cannot resist here is my favourite recipe....

In a mixing jug with a pour spout:
1 cup of Flour.
2 tbsp of sugar.
1 tspn of baking powder.

In one Bowl:
1 Egg.
1 Cup of Milk
2 tbsp of Melted Butter

pour wet ingredients into the dry and give it a good mix.

Heat up a pan using frylight (because you know using 1cal spray makes these pancakes calorie free - haha I wish)

Pour into pan and cook. Chuck in the ingredients, my favourite is blueberries, and chocolate ;)

Then top with whatever picks your fancy... then take a picture for instagram of course!

This is my attempt to make me stop eating the pancakes, my announcing my addiction, so please if you see these on my instagram, call me out and tell me no! haha.

Enjoy!

MAC: Saint Germain

I picked up Saint Germain a few months ago and was struggling to even try it. I always loved it in store, but could never pluck up the courage to be that pink, to actually wear it out the house. Its like barbie's colour, superbright, and one hell of a statement.

But to my surprise it is really nice on, bold but in a no fuss way. At first people will look in a "wow" way... but then after 5 minutes I was getting compliments on the colour.

What's your thoughts on it? to bright to bother? tag me on @MakeErinOver with you rocking Saint Germain, or leave a comment in the section below. I would love to hear from you!

It's that Time Of the Month

Even at 24, over half my life dealing with periods, they still surprise me and torment me every month, like I didn't see it coming, despite me consuming my entire kitchen a few days before it's arrival.

Lets face it, the adverts are all lies. We now are able to achieve what we want, do what we want while we have them. But do we want to swim, run marathons when its that time? hell no. Well I don't anyway!

So this is my routine, when this time arrives.

First up is a shower, I hate feeling dirty, so I usually hop in a quick shower and opt for some Femfresh, yeah it's cringy but there is zero chance of irritation, and thats the last thing I need. Followed by some ugly ass pants, usually xmas ones in july, which my boyfriend hates beyond words. Then with the usual supply of tampons/pads, I really aint picky over which ones, I dont see it being something to fuss over!

For Clothes its always my ugly bottoms, they are singly the comfiest things I own. This may be something to do with them being an epic 4 sizes too big, but they are amazing. They are also falling to bits, have holes in them and various bleach stains, but I refuse to bin them. I think every girl needs a pair of PJs they (and their partners) are horrified by!

Thanks to Aunt Flow the arrival of my monthlies also brings some fat ugly spots. Ever since I was a spotty teen I have used freederm on my spots. It dries them out, I have zero idea if this is any good for my skin, I should probably look into this huh? but I just always reach for this when those pesky blemishes arrive.

For general skincare it always has to be Super Facialist by Una Brennan, but even more so when my skin, along with everything else is feeling rubbish. The Vitamin C and orange scent is incredible. Keep an eye out on my blog this week as I will be doing a full post on this. It is incredible.

Last up is just taking the time to have by myself, relaxing and just cramping in peace. Right now I opt for a salted caramel Yankee Candle, Llindt Excellence Caramel with a touch of sea salt (which is amazing btw) and Netflix with RuPaul's Drag Race, which is perfect of binge watching on the sofa.

What do you choose to do on the nights you just want to chill? let me know in the comment section below :)

The Next Summer Sale 2015

The Next sale to me is tradition, something I have gone to since my son was about 2 month's old and I realised how much you could get for your cash.

Next kids clothes are essentials. To me they are 100% the best brand you can get on the high street for baby/kids clothes. Not only do they wash well, they wear great and the designs are fab.. Plus who on earth would pay £4 for a primark tshirt that will shrink after one wash, when you can pay £6 for a Next one which will last a year (or £3 in the next sale).

The problem with Next is that everyone knows they are good. So my alarm set for 03.30am - why? because my son is about to turn 4, and he has zero pairs of jeans in the size 4-5, which means to save myself £50 I will happily get up, to get the sizes I need. See the issue is the sizing. Unless you have a tiny baby, or a 15 year old, the chances or getting a size you need anytime after 05.10am is slim to none, so I wait for at least an hour outside freezing my butt off to get what I want, which has yet to fail 3.5yrs later.

I always manage to get exactly what I am after, the key is to go the week before and see what they have, figure out what you want most and head straight for that when you go in. Those of you who struggle getting jeans in size 12-16 you will have zero issues at 5am, even in the petite section.

So here is what I picked up, they had zero pairs of jeans in 4-5, but I am happy with what I did manage to get!

I know 100% AJ is going to be obsessed with that Lego Tshirt. These were £2-£6 each.

I have been looking at these for months now, so the chance to grab them for £13 was too good to miss :)

From the home store I picked up £1 candles, a new mug and a double duvet pack. It's beautiful. And will be perfect for our room once it's done up! (I also managed to get the matching curtains and pillow online)

Overall I spent £78.80. Well work the 3.30am alarm... I think.

Yes, yes, yes I know you are all thinking "crazy lady" but trust me, if you love next, but you hate their sale, please get up at stupid o'clock and see what you can really get your hands on, I promise it will not disappoint.

If you did go let me know what you managed to pick up in the comment section below, or tag me on Instagram/Twitter @MakeErinOver

Nails: Topshop Movie Star

I always hate painting my nails after cutting them, it just never applies as well as I would like it too.

This colour is very different to what I would usually opt for, and to be completely honest I am not in love. The application just wasnt the nicest. It's a very thick formula and it just wasn't as smooth as I would like it to be.

Other than that the colour isnt the nicest either, its just Meh... not wow, not amazing, just alright. Maybe because for me, its just not bright enough.

What's your thoughts on it? Like it? Let me know in the comments below!

MAC: Haul

I feel like it's been forever since I bought a new refill pan, so when debenhams announced the £10 of points when you spend £50 it was the perfect excuse. I decided to put money aside and grab a few bits!

I picked up:

quad pallette - £5 - for travelling
Steamy - £10 - I would describe this as mermaid blue, it's metallic and has hints of green, it's lovely, perfect all over lid colour for adventurous days when I am just not feeling a brown tone!
Humid - £10 - perfect green, wearable and just very pretty. I love this under my bottom lash line, or in the crease giving some colour to a brown smokey.
Nylon - £10 - I asked one of the girls for a highlight colour, and this one delivers perfectly. Shimmery but not glittery, it's just beautiful, and perfect for highlighting the brow bone on any look. This should be a staple in all Mac palettes!
Viva Glam II - £15.50 - the last thing I probably needed was another Mac Nude, but it will be used, and with a different finish - a pinkier tone, it's lovely.

I only have 4 spaces left in my pallette now, one is reserved for freshwater which was out of stock today, so I need suggestions, let me know your favourites in the comment section below :)

July's Empties

I'ts Empties time! I do love an empties post... so here is a month's worth :)

1. TRESemme Moisture Rich Luxurious Moisture Shampoo 900ml (£3.50 each) - Does anyone else have that few things they just know will be in their christmas collection from their parents/grandparents? Socks, Chocolate Orange etc? Well as a family of 4 girls my Gran always gets us all a 2 pack of Tresemme. When I was a daily hair washer this was ace, a good 2 months without having to splash any cash on Shampoo & Conditioner.. score. Nowaways.... its a tad depressing.. why? because its mid July and they have defeated me... they aren't even completely empty, but I am sick of the sight of them, staring me down in the shower in a HA! you cant try anything else until we are done... so I caved, I bought something a bit different, to give my 2 time a week hairwash some variety after 7 months straight of these. They do the job, they wash my hair, they are not spectacular.. i'm just so fed up of them. I wont repurchase, but my gran will... bring it on 2016.

2. Lush's Ro's Argan (£16.50) - From fed up of a product to ready to cry. This will be repurchased asap, can ready why here.. I LOVE this stuff :)

3. Original Source Lime (£2.29) - This a staple in my monthly empties, I love this stuff, the lime is super fresh, very unisex but it makes me feel squeaky clean.

4. SuperDrug Tea Tree Foaming Face Wash (£3.29) - I love to use this in the shower, clears out my pores and wakes me up in the morning, Seems to help keep the spots at bay too, which is always a bonus.

5. Soap & Glory Supercat Liner  (£6.00) - I reviewed here, as I have already bought a replacement. Perfect for those of us who weren't gifted in the art of eye lining.

6. McIntyre Candle in Wild Fig & Amber (£8.00) - my boss makes these, really are incredible candles for the price, love trying out local brands, and this scent was very Jo Malone - good dupe!

7. Yankee Candle Bunny Cake  (£21.99) - I'm over the moon to see the end of this candle. I don't know if it was the scent, but it just burned so unevenly. It seemed to last forever. I won't be buying a large jar again, it was just too much of one scent, and this is comin from a girl who goes through them like crazy!

Face of the Day: Blue Liner

Every now and then I find a look that I just love to do, this is definitely one I love. Please ignore my greasy forhead and hairy face in this pic... #imreallyamonkey.. this was taken an epic 8 hours after I did my makeup, which I would say is actually alright for a full day's wear!

This look was pretty standard for my usual make up routine, with a slight difference along my lower lash line.

I decided to use my Vice 3 pallette, but this look can be recreated with any blue eyeshadow... or any colour really!

I opted for a mix of Truth and Downfall over my lid, then Reign in my crease blended in. I then took Freeze along my bottom lash line, then lined my waterline with the Bourjois Metalic Blue eyeliner.

Done! Whats your thoughts on this look? too much or ready to give it a go? let me know in the comments below, thanks for stopping by :)

Topshop Sale Haul

Haul time! I love topshop, but damn they are overpriced. So a chance to grab a bargain is always welcome.

My first grab was these cream Hayden Jeans, I cannot tell you how unbelievably comfy they are, and for someone who is tiny and pear shaped jeans are the enemy. To find a pair that actually fit me is nothing short of a miracle, but these are perfect.

I am undecided if I will dye them black still, and would love opinions on this, cream or black? decisions please! for £15.00 they were a complete steal :)

Freedom @ Topshop is a brilliant collection, I am constantly finding cute little pieces with them, so I just had to grab these for £2 each. Simple yet stylish. Always a winner.

Last up was the makup section, i'm always so put off by make up in clothes shops, it just feels so wrong. But seeing a few bits in the sale I grabbed a few to try out. Purple polish and a nude lip.. will let you know how that goes later! :)

What have you managed to grab in the topshop sale?

Does anyone else have a hard time trying to find anything above a size 10 when the sales hit? Sale must be incredible if you are a size 4-8! #maybeishouldjustloosesomeweight ha!

Thanks for stopping by, leave your comments in the section below and let me know what you have managed to grab!
