Winter Empties 2018

Aaaaand here is my Trash.

I love an empties post. I love to see the bits I have used up over the past few months, it makes me feel like I am making progress, even if I am buying way more than I use *gulp*

This season's empties seem to be a bit lacking... well apart from the candles. I have issues. But here they are.

How To Use And Love Bloglovin'

Are you using Bloglovin' to its full potential?

I feel like I am one of the only bloggers left who uses Bloglovin' - but the reality is that a hell of a lot of people use and love the platform, myself included. I realised once you have sussed how it works and how to make the most of it - you can really use it to your full advantage.

So, if you are a blogger, and like commenting on loads of blogs like I do - it is without a doubt the best way to catch up. And if you are a blogger who doesn't comment on lots of blogs maybe you should reassess and start. Afterall, how can we expect people to read our content - when you don't read any yourself? :)

So, the main issue with Bloglovin' is how to filter everything, and they don't make it easy on us to set it up. So here is how I do it.

How to Set up Groups on Bloglovin'

Step 1: Click on the Menu tab, then select "Following"

Step 2: From there, all followers will load alphabetically and there is a Following tab, along with 3 dots. Click the dots, then select "Add or Remove From Groups"

Step 3: add to existing Groups or +Create New Group, you need to do this to each blog you want to add.

DONE! Everything now shows in the Groups on the right-hand side. You can see how many are in the tabs, and when you click it filters to only the blogs you have added into the groups.

You then have full control over what is in the feed, and what you filter down. I then mark as read or read to keep them then select the heart when I have read and commented. Sharing the love and all (I loved my own post for this screenshot and unloved it btw lol)

How to Grow Your Bloglovin' Followers

1. USE bloglovin'
If you don't use it, how can you expect to gain followers on it? I'm sure BL take notice who is on their platform and who isn't, who read, who loves, and the more you use it, the more you will be noticed on it.

2. Add a button to blog posts
You will see my button on every blog post I publish. It makes it super easy for people to follow you if they stumble across a post they love. It doesn't take long to copy and paste the code.

3. Share on Twitter
I share my BL link daily. I really do think it helps to grow your following and reach out to more people :)

4. Add People on BL!
I am always looking to follow new blogs and find new interesting posts to read. Which means I am constantly looking for new people on Bloglovin' search functions. I have a thing for cooking blogs too - it's not all beauty :)

But Overall, I love Bloglovin' and it is definitely something that you should use if you aren't already.

Do you love Bloglovin'? Is it something that you use? Let me know in the comments.

Even more Lipsticks....

If you haven't checked out my previous M&SBeauty posts you can check out the lipstick post here, and the lipgloss post here

I have been loving M&S lipsticks the past few weeks, and the liquid lipsticks are just stunning. The formula is longlasting, but not drying. The finish is matte, but does not completely dry down. Although it isn't transfer proof, I actually enjoy that aspect, because it keeps your lips looking flawless rather than drying them out.

Shiney Metallic Shades
If you haven't checked out my first post with Matrix and Fin & Co, you can here.
Matrix's most recent addition to their colour range is metallic shades, I am completely digging them. Think cool silvers and purples, then warm bronze and rose gold - it's super pretty. On trend and completely beautiful. Why not expand metallic to your hair too? Especially if it gives the same shine payoff.

The Sheeniest Lips Around

If you checked out this post from Friday (Go check it out if you haven't) I have been sent a whole load of lip goodies from M&S beauty to try out, this is #2 from the installment - the Lip Glosses.

Bedside Essentials

Bedside Essentials

I am such a nosy person. I love seeing what people have in their day to day lives, the products they use all the time. So I thought I would share with you all the bits next to my bedside - in a very photogenic way of course - cause it never looks as good as this usually lol.

First up is my lamp, Pretty Honest and plant, all from TK maxx, all amazingggg. I love them. I love how TK Maxx has items you won't really find anywhere else, and this lamp is the perfect example! :)

I wish I could be one of those people who say "Oh, I don't take my phone to bed, I leave it in another room." HA no. I don't think I would want to either. I like my phone being nearby, I like being able to scroll through IG in the morning without moving, and I also fall asleep with Ben on the phone telling me made up stories of Princess Darcey and her adventures - so the phone stays. I also keep my Apple Watch next to my bed too, It doubles as a clock when it is plugged in! :)

My blog diary is always nearby too, with a pencil to go with. I need it to write down half decent thoughts or remember what I actually have scheduled for the following days/weeks.

Shoutout to the Clinique Pep Start Lip Treatment too, it is so good for healing up dry lips. I apply it nightly regardless of lip condition - just to make them feel nice.

The tropic items are pretty amazing too. I keep their Whipped Body Velvet closeby, the smell is AMAZING. Rich, vanilla, incredible. I apply this on my hands, arms and legs if I am struggling to relax. I use their So Sleepy Sleep Mist too, to get my eyes closing. Such a good combo, and I reviewed them here.

I also always seem to have Sudafed spray here too - just in case I get a cold.

The Jo Malone Candle is just me being completely extra, and well - sometimes you need to be that little bit fancy!

As for my jewellery - well I always forget to remove it. So I now keep my necklace box here to put them in when I forget. I love my Missoma Horn & E, they are beyond perfection.

There is always flavoured water or diluting juice next to my bed too. I hate the feeling of morning dry mouth, so there is always something to drink nearby. I will also admit that there is typically a bag of Percy's Somewhere too.

What is your bedside essentials? Let me know in the comments below!

M&SBeauty: Rosie For Autograph Lipsticks + Swatches*

I just LOVE lipsticks.

I really, really love lipsticks.

So when M&S Beauty contacted me asking if I would like to try out anything from their range, of course, I picked lipsticks - I always pick lipsticks. Lipsticks to me tell a lot about a brand, if they nail the formula of them, the shade range - then I am up for trying more. They are always the first thing I gravitate towards, the first thing I swatch and ultimately the item I love to buy the most.

So, if you have been following me on Instagram this week you would have seen me obsessing over beautiful lipsticks on my story, these are them - the Rosie For Autograph lipsticks. Their stunning rose gold packaging with metallic closure, the embossed rose is enough to make anyone weep in their perfection, but I must say - the formula is bloody incredible too.

The formula is smooth, pigmented, perfectly sheeny. It reminds me of the Estee Lauder formula (which I also love), the Bobbi Brown formula or the Hourglass Confession formula. The pigment is high, and the lipstick is comfortable and easy to apply. Most importantly the pigment lasts far longer than you would expect from a non-matte lipstick. For example, the bright red lasted over lunch and coffee - and although I touched up - I definitley didn't have to, the red was perfectly in place, but the colour had lost the sheen value (So I popped some more on). Overall pretty awesome.

The shade range seems to all be wearable - no greens or blues. But realistically - it's what the majority of us wear day to day. There is a nude for every skintone, and a few classic colours you would be lost without.

Lady Rose I think is my favourite out of the five. To me - it is just the perfect nudey, pinky, browny shade. On paler skin, this is just complete perfection. If I was to never have another shade again, I would be happy with this. It is definitely as close to my actual lip colour as I can get  (But WAY prettier)

Rosie Lips is my ideal autumn shade, a burgundy shade which just screams bold, bad and beautiful. This is the non-matte version of MAC D is for Danger or Maybelline's Devine wine. And I must say, I am loving the non-matte look just now.

Silk Rose is a half mix of pink and brown, with completely neutral undertones. Sometimes I think it is warm, other times I think it is cool. This works with pretty much every look. I rocked it with a super bold eye - and it looked stunning.

Camisole Blush is the pinky peach nude. *its so pretty* It's the perfect minimal lipstick. I love shades like this for work, or for days where I don't want to have to think much about the lipstick or touching it up.

Super Model Kiss - last but definitely not least. This is a head turner - in a completely good way. Without a doubt the brightest (almost neon) red lipstick I own. It's definitely more warm-toned, but wow it is beautiful. Everyone on Instagram was loving it when I posted it on Instagram.

Overall, I am completely in love with these lipsticks - and have spent all week recommending them to everyone I come across. If you are looking for a new lipstick I very highly recommend picking one of these up next time you are in M&S, I promise you won't be disappointed!

March: Best Blog Posts

The Best Posts of this Month

I am so loving doing these posts now, they are so fun. Fun to share blogs I have loved, posts I have read, it's always good to find new content! :)

First Impressions: Bioderma Skincare*

First Impressions: Bioderma Skincare* Micellar Sebium Range, Review, Honest

I think I am becoming a little skincare obsessed

Last month I decided to try out Bioderma's hyped micellar water. The one that started them all. You can view that post here, where I did a boots haul. I finally wanted to see what all the fuss was about over this product, everyone seems to be completely obsessed.

After writing up my haul, Bioderma actually reached out to me and asked to send me some more from their range, I was definitely excited to try more from their oily/combo skin range - Sebium. So I thought I would pop them all into a blog post, and let you know how I got on after 4 weeks of use.

Happy Mother's Day 2018

This photo makes me giggle. It pretty much sums up Motherhood.

I think it's important to understand that although a lot of women fall under the catagory of "mother" there is a lot of different types of us out there. I thought I would take the time to celebrate each and every one of us. Because we are all pretty special in our own ways.

*I would like to note here that Mother's Day can be harder for some of us. So I am thinking of you all. To any of you who are hurting today - I'm sorry, and I do hope today isn't too hard for you.

I am in a very lucky position to say I am a Mum, who has a Mum, who still has her Mum. So currently we are a family with 4 generations. Which is pretty cool. (AJ is 6, I'm 27, my Mum is 48 and my Gran is 71) So I am surrounded by Mums in different time periods of their lives, different positions in the family. - very lucky.

The Best Smelling Body Products

The Best Smelling Body Products, original source, scrub, happyplace cosmetics.

Is it bad to be obsessed with something just due to the smell? Because I have always been a tad smell sensitive, therefore obsessed with product scent. It is typically the first thing I check and can be a deciding factor if I end up making a splurge or not. Some products I have deemed SO good, that I will constantly repurchase just to make my nose happy on a daily basis. Here are the products that fall into that list, and well worth having a smell the next time you see them in a shop.

Moving On From Matte (Lipsticks)

Moving On From Matte (Lipsticks) MAC Peach stock , Bobbi Brown Sandwash Pink, Estee Lauder Dynamic , Burts Bees blush basin , Hourglass confession Swatches true love means, swatch

Pretty, un-matte lipsticks

Without even a shadow of doubt lipstick has to be my favourite part about applying makeup. Something about that final touch of a coloured lip just makes my heart sing.... especially when it is a shade you just completely love.

Over the past few years my heart has completely belonged to the Matte lip. 90% of my lipsticks have a matte finish, and overall, they would be the ones I would gravitate towards when it comes to splashing out on a new lipstick. But recently I have found myself going for a creamy finish, something not matte - and to be honest I am loving it.

Adexe London: Petite Freerunner Pink Watch*

Adexe London: Petite Freerunner Pink Watch*

A Beautiful Pink Watch you Say?

I must admit I really love watches. The obsession is real. so when Adexe very kindly asked me to select a watch from their website, how could I say anything other than "Yes please!"

Adexe offer lots of different styles, colours and sizes. They offer metal straps and leather, along with different colour options and different faces. But the one that really grabbed my attention was the Petite Freerunner in pink. This one is brand new to their collection, and completely different to anything I already own.

Procrastinating Like A Pro

One of my favourite past times is procrastinating. Something about it is just so time wasting and brain fulfilling, a complete and utter waste of time and resources, but hey, sometimes its fun to give your brain a break and waste a crap tonne of precious time by doing worse than nothing.

On the upside, these things do tend to benefit mental health, given their soothing properties. Everyone needs to take time to themselves and just not be in the moment for a while. But still, it is something that we all do and wish we don't - especially when their is a to-do list longer than your arm.

So I thought I would share with you all my favourite ways of wasting my time...

BECCA x Sananas Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter - Parisian Lights

BECCA x Sananas Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter - Parisian Lights

New highlighter you say? YES!

Becca is the god of all highlighters now, everyone knows it, and completely loves their formula. I am no exception. When they announced their latest collaboration with Sananas (A French blogger) my jaw bounced a little. I mean it's beautiful, and I hadn't even heard of Sananas to know about it - and I wanted it.

Christian Breton Skincare*

Sheet Masks and Toners

I have tried Christian Breton previously and was really impressed, so of course, I was more than happy to try more from their range. You can view my review of the Hydra Quick Cleanser and the Dark Circle and Puffiness Eye Patches here.

They very kindly sent across the Exfoliating Lotion and the Charcoal Masks to try, and they have been in my routine now for almost four weeks, so I thought I would let you know my thoughts on them...
