April Favourites 2018

Another month, another favourites.

This month has been SO stressful, the lead up to exams is enough to make me feel a little sick. 11 days from now is day 1 of exams, and I have never felt so unprepared. But I have still been loving a whole load of different products, so I thought I would take the time to share them with you.

April Skincare Saviours

My Skincare Routine for this month.

One of the joys of being a blogger is the constant trying of new products. It often means you will find yourself new incredible products to love and use, and this month has been full of those. Here are the items I have been using and loving the most this month.

Urban Decay Favourites*

Dream come true Post.

Urban Decay have been on my ultimate goals list since the very beginning of blogging. It was my holy grail brand, I only dreamed of working with them, and this month - that became a reality. *SQUEAL*

I have loved UD since I first started using makeup. The naked 3 palette was my first high end purchase, and the first venture into higher quality makeup too. I loved it. Urban Decay holds a special place in my heart for being my first - so it has been so nice trying out some new products, and some classics from them.

First Impressions: Gatineau Skincare*

A first try of a different brand.

I am getting so obsessed with skincare now, and Gatineau was on my list to try for such a long time. They very kindly offered to send me some of their best sellers to try - and I have loved trying them out so far, they have been beautiful to use.

April: Life On Film #2 (Sunshine, School Holidays and Revision)

A Month in Pictures Taken on a old AF film camera

I have a Olympus Pen E-PL8, but somehow I just LOVE the look of film photos. The excitement of getting the shot, not knowing if its gonna turn out alright and the suspense of getting them developed. HOW FUN! Also, I got a new iPad, and now I can draw on my photos. So yeah, the creation of Life on Film on my blog. I really hope you enjoy! :)

Fresh Have Arrived At World Duty Free!*

Fresh Has Arrived At Wold Duty Free!* Rose, Deep Hydration

I don't think I have ever fallen so quick for a skincare range.

I love you fresh. So much. You make my skin GLOW. (and who doesn't love that?)

Fresh has just been launched at World Duty Free in their London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3 and online. Which means you can save yourself a few quid and bag a saving off this incredible brand in the best treat yo'self moments there is - at the airport.

I have been using this range together now for almost 4 weeks, and I am just completely in love. My skin has never felt as good as it does at the moment, and it is 100% down to this range from Fresh, and it has me so excited to try more from them (Because I know I will definitely be picking up more from World Duty Free when I fly in June)

#MaskWeek: The Big Round Up

The End of it all, in one Post

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 7.

I really do hope you have enjoyed a week full of mask reviews. I thought I would change it up from the usual content and surpise you with something skincare filled.

I have had so much fun trying all of these, and it's safe to say my skin is now in ship shape condition, and I am set to fight any concern I might have on my face.

Now, here is the roundup. What is best for what, and my ultimate recommendations.

#MaskWeek: Pure Natural Beauty - Skin Remedy Masks Trio (M&SBeauty)*

A Mask for Every Need, from a Natural (Affordable) Brand!

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 6.

This trio has to be the most exciting find of this week. Did you know M&S have a brand called Pure. They use natural ingredients and source their contents from the UK - all at a very good price bracket too! I have loved trying their three different masks, and am so impressed with the results.

#MaskWeek: Emma Hardie Moringa Renewal Treatment Mask (M&SBeauty)*

The mask for dry and/or dull skin

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 5.

#MaskWeek: Pixi Glow-o2 Oxygen Mask (M&S Beauty)*

#MaskWeek: Pixi Glow-o2 Oxygen Mask* (M&S Beauty)

Bubbily goodness.

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 4.

I LOVE bubble masks. I find I reach them more than any other type of mask, simply because they are so quick, easy and fun to use. The Pixi one is now the first one I reach for. It applies like a moisturiser, then bubbles up into foam like consistancy, then slowly bubbles away. You then remove the excess and your skin is left silky smooth.

I love using these because you don't have to worry about mask in your hair, and you can do them while waiting on your morning coffee or brushing your teeth etc. It is quick and easy, and the easiest to apply. This is my go-to for busy days - especially in the mornings.

"This oxygen treatment mask revives dull, tired skin, providing an immediate anti-fatigue effect – perfect before a big event or makeup application. Oxygen complex, vitamins, ginseng, caffeine and antioxidants replenish. Probiotic lactococcus ferment lysate strengthens skin & lactic acid detoxifies."

They can be tickly when they are working their magic, especially around the nose, but I would highly recommend checking this out if you haven't already. It is super fun, but also leaves your skin feeling super smooth too.

Chemical Exfoliating Goodness.

The Big Guns

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 2.

The GlamGlow YouthMud is no gentle approach to a mask. This is hard core, for the hard core. Once applied the mask tingles a lot, then hardens within ten minutes to then be taken off.

#MaskWeek: Origins Original Skin Retexturizing Mask With Rose Clay (M&SBeauty)*

The Mask for Blemish Prone, Oily Skin

Welcome to Mask Week! A mask a day for a whole week!

Day 1.

Origins is a brand I hadn't tried up until now. But everyone seems to be obsessed with their skincare, the masks especially. So I was so excited to try them out.

Summer Products I Look Forward To Using

Summer Products I Look Forward To Using

I dream of hot weather and sandy beaches.

With the snow finally leaving us, the sun finally getting to peek it's head out after a long winter, I am dreaming of all the goodies I will be back to enjoying over summer. I thought I would reminisce over the favourites, and discuss the bits I am excited to add back into my routine.

 Define Full-Time Blogger

I know a fair few bloggers now who have decided to take the leap, quit their jobs and go 100% blog. Some post daily, weekly, monthly even. Some do web design on the side. Some do photography on the side, some are completely dependant on their blog. How cool is that?

Therapi Hair Care Review*

Therapi Hair Care Review*

And the hair obsession continues.

Therapi reached out to me recently and sent me some goodies to try. They looked so so good, and I love the whole aesthetic, the packaging, the brand. It is all very on trend.

Step 1: The Signature Cleanser is their shampoo so to speak. The cleanser is designed to clean your hair without stripping the moisture. The cleanser contains Baobab Oil which is designed to moisturise your hair while it cleans. Always a positive.

Step 2: The Moisturising Conditioner. The conditioner is really nice. I love a conditioner that moisturises but doesn't leave your hair feeling heavy or greasy. They describe it as: "targets normal to dry hair replacing the lost moisture whilst restoring the hairs natural shine."

Step 3: The Shimmer & Shine Spray. This is my favourite of the three. I love this. My hair has a tendency to be all frizzy and flyaway all over the place, especially when I curl it. So this just helps to hold everything in place and add a shine (which takes away from the sheer amount of dry shampoo in my hair usually!)

Overall, I have really enjoyed using this Trio, and would recommend picking them up if you get the chance.

My New Dressing Table / Vanity

I am unbelievably happy with this, I have been looking at this exact dresser for over 2 years. Every time I go into Next Home I would look at it, decide it was lovely. Then realise it was £299 and I was NOT ok for paying that much for a unit. Then it went into the sale, then they reduced the display items... and well, I got it for £67. SO happy with it.

So I thought I would do a picture heavy post just to take pretty photos of it. And to be honest, after yesterday's post... I just want to post pretty photos. mmm'kay? lol

The Chair is from Amazon here. It was an asshole to build, but for £35 it will do for now :)

Everything else is from TK Maxx (minus the candles).

The basket under the unit is filled with not dirty but not clean clothes. (Mainly worn once jumpers) - because if I didn't have the basket, they would be on the floor/chair.

So yeah, I hope you enjoyed the pictures. I LOVE it. It looks fabby. I find myself sitting at it all the time, and it is so lovely to do my makeup sitting rather than standing. Even if it does take me 10x longer now lol.

I also love how I can work at my laptop at it too, without it feeling cluttered :)

The amazon chair will do until I splash out on this one from Fern & Grey. It's yellow perfection. But I need to save up first.

Do you have a vanity? Is it something you would consider? Let me know at the comments below! :)

Pixi Pretties: The Latest Pixi + Influencer Collaborations + Swatches*

Pixi Pretties: The Latest Pixi + Influencer Collaborations!*

All The Photos, Swatches. All the Pretties.

I don't think I have ever been so excited to see a parcel. I have been waiting to try Pixi for SO long, and I finally got round to it, then this arrived. I squealed with excitement. The packaging was incredible. (It's on my IG highlights if you want to check it out).

Pixi is now known for their collabs with influencers, and this year they have decided to collaborate with Chloe Morello, Dulce Candy and Weylie Hoang. I wasn't following any of them, but I have now. I love finding new people to follow on YouTube.

Glossier: Giving Them Another Chance (Phase 2 + Super Pure Review)

Glossier: A Second Chance (Phase 2 + Super Pure Review)

I was so mean to Glossier the last time, I thought I would give them another chance...

So yeah, everyone loves Glossier, but I ripped into them hard on this post. What can I say? I wasn't overly impressed. And I would be lying if this one is a complete convert on my thoughts. But hey, more on that now.

Biolage RAW: Nourish Shampoo, Conditioner & Clay Mask*

My hair has never been as nice as this.

Since December I have been working with the incredible Fin & Co with Matrix in their #bloggermatch programme. They very kindly sent me home with their newest addition to their salon. - The Biolage RAW Nourish range from Matrix. The range boasts an all-natural, high-quality approach to hair care. And wow it is good.

Since my hair is super dark, whenever I have my hair done bleach is typically involved. This has the tendency to dry our anyone's hair - mine included.

The Biolage RAW nourish Clay Mask has been the saviour of this. On first wash, my hair was feeling pretty dried out. I applied the mask generously, brushed it through with a wet brush and left it for 10 minutes. Since then my hair felt 10x better. Another repeat of this on the next wash had my hair back to its usual self. Without a doubt a standout product if you have dry hair or to help repair bleach damage. I love this stuff!

Please note: I don't typically get out the shower with it on, but I did for the photos. Directions of use say 5-minute wait, but I always take 10 (usually singing in the shower). Also here I need my undercut dealt with - hence the stubbly neck/head.

The shampoo and conditioner are also lovely to use. They clean and add moisture to my hair, making it shiny and not greasy. The perfect combination. This photo of my hair was taken one wash after bleaching. My hair was shiny and smooth, definitely not dry. *yay*

As the range is designed by Matrix, it is also completely safe to use on dyed hair. So no risk of losing your colour while using these.

I highly recommend picking up the Nourish Biolage RAW range from Matrix, they are beautiful to use, and will leave your hair super soft and shiny. I don't think I have ever been this happy with my hair before. So so happy.

You can find Fin&Co who sell Matrix Products here, and on IG here, or at:
1A High Street,
Carnoustie,
Angus
DD7 6AN
Tel: 01241 852321

Matrix offers a wide range of different hair colours and treatments to suit everyone. - I highly recommend checking out their metallic range. Their Instagram is a joy to browse through for inspo.

What shampoo & conditioner are you loving at the moment? Have you tried anything from this range? Let me know in the comments below!

Tropic Body Smooth Refreshing Polish*

The best smelling scrub you can find

I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Tropic. Their products are all natural, vegan and cruelty free. I love their ethos of being as transparrent with their product's ingredients too, it is fab. The brand is really worth checking out if you haven't already.

MakeErinOver Turns 3: A Little Throwback

Are you ready for some cringy AF 2015 blog photos?

The following post has been in drafts for a long time. The first ever blogpost. Back when I thought it was OK to put SQUARE photos in blog posts. *what was I thinking* Part of me wants to cry a little looking at it. But alas, it shows growth, improvement. Everyone has to start somewhere, and I started at the bottom. HA.
