My Current Favourite Base Products

A Quick Base Recap.

I was committed for a long time to the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear (£33.50) (See Post Here) and to be fair, I still love it to bits. But, it is nice to try something different, and for once I have found a mix which can practically rival my love for the Lancome.

For reference, my skin type is combination oily. My nose is really oily, so if a foundation is going to fail on me - it's usually there.

Regardless of a foundation, the Dermalogica Skinperfect Primer* (£44.50) (See Post Here) is without a doubt my favourite primer now, with an SPF30 and soy proteins to even out skin texture this is the perfect base for makeup application. It makes my skin soft, but tacky - almost the same effect as a silicone primer, but this is much nicer to use. I don't reach for anything other than this now.

The YSL All Hours Foundation (£33.50) (See Post Here) is something I am aiming to finish up as part of my project pan (See Post Here) - paired with the Skin Perfect primer it is a fantastic full coverage base. But, it doesn't beat my beloved Lancome... the new Clinique Even Better Refresh Foundation, (£30.00) however... I've been using it for over a week now and I am SO impressed so far. I will be picking up a bottle this weekend because I'm confident that this one might actually rival my Lancome... which even I am shocked to say.

The Tarte Shape Tape (£23.00) is something I feel we are all obsessed with - and for good reason too. The full coverage concealer is perfect for those of us with prominent eye bags. This is definitely worth the effort to get a hold of, I got mine via the Tarte Website.

The Pixi Makeup Fixing Mist* (£16.00) (Full Post Here) is also new to my routine. The light spray has the perfect spray top for even distribution - which is 90% of the battle with setting sprays. I'm still unsure if any of them have a huge effect on longevity - but it does stop my face from looking too cakey, which is ideal.

So there it is, my favourite base at the moment, what is yours? I would love to know.
