2018 Favourites: Makeup, Skincare, Personal

Honestly, I'm a little shocked 2018 is over... but at the same time, I am so happy with this year. I have managed to cram so many incredible moments into this year - so it seemed like a good idea to round up all my favourites from 2018 into one post, and here it is.

M A K E U P

It seems the longer I use the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear the more and more I like it. I honestly feel like this is my holy grail product now, there is no moving this from the top spot. A newer favourite is the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer though, I feel like I was really late to jump on that bandwagon - but I am definitely on it now. SO good. Such an incredible concealer - it really does cover everything.

Usually, I love eyeshadow. Before it was one of my favourite products to apply, but this year it has really taken a backseat. I think I enjoy to take my time, and as I am lacking in time at the moment it's proving to be too time-consuming. Instead, I have been reaching for a two colour max eye look. The Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance is my go-to for that.  The shade Buon Fresco is my go to, then I use Vermeer all over the lid.

The Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick is my ideal shade for contouring without it being too much. It is now within my daily routine to slim out my currently chubby face.

For lipsticks I seem to be bound to two shades now, my ultimate red - Jeffree Star Redrum, this shade doesn't budge for anyone or anything, it is STUNNING on. True red, the perfect staple for your stash - especially if you love a red. Then there is my perfect nude - Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, the most perfectly perfect shade.

To finish everything up, my go-to scent has had to be Jo Malone Velvet Rose & Oud. It really is beautiful. The scent is rich and deep, floral yet sexy. The perfect special scent. Essie "Million Mile Hues" has also been a firm favourite for my nails, golden perfection.

Pixi Glow Tonic* has well and truly won my heart this year. There was no doubting that this would be getting featured. It is SO good. without a doubt one of the best products I have tried - and well worth trying if you haven't already.

The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm* has also been a 'love at first use' type product. It is glorious. The smell, the formula, the feel *eeeeeep* it's so nice. And well worth the price tag - treat yourself. This paired with the Magnitone Wipe Out* cloth, (which is softer than a cloud), is a duo made in heaven.

The Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream* is such a lovely moisturiser for in the evening. The scent and formula is lovely - the scent is perfection, and I love how my skin feels when I use this regularly. It is the one I always go back to.

Glossier Super Pure was the shocking love for me. I LOVE it. If I use this properly (like I should) I don't get any spots at all. I need to put this to better use, repurchase because it really is SO good. Especially if you suffer from breakouts like me.

The Ren Glycol Lactic Renewal Mask* is a mask of dreams. It leaves my skin feeling super refreshed and clear. I would use this constantly if my bank balance would let me lol.

P E R S O N A L

This year has been THEE MOST INCREDIBLE YEAR. Seriously, it's been incredible. It feels like all I have done is study. But wow has it been worth it. I studied my ass off January-May to get 3 As at higher, which in turn gained me my place at RGU to study Midwifery. I've then studied September-December. But I am actually studying a topic I love, something I am interested in, something I am so passionate about. Finally, after 2 years at college and so much time, stress and energy - I am doing what I have always wanted to do, and I couldn't be happier.

This year I quit my job, quit a job I hated. I had done it for 10 years, the relief of not going there anymore is more than I can even explain. Especially as it has been replaced by something I love.

This year I have been away to Tenerife with my mum and AJ, we went to Siam Park, we went down the slides, AJ got one cracking tan - and I got burnt. My mum and I went to Stobo Castle, we relaxed and ate for 24 hours straight - it was exhausting.

Sure, I haven't lost weight, I'm not getting engaged or married, I am nowhere near buying a house, but for me - this year has been incredible, all of that can wait. Bring on 2019.
