Top 10 Teen Movies I Will Not Admit To Loving (But Watch All The Time)

"What am I watching?... it's just a movie..."

I have been going through a phase recently where I am watching movies that 12-14 year old me would have loved - or did love at the time... it's like pre-relationship Erin is just wanting to believe in high school love again... or maybe it's just the lack of brain cells required to watch them... or potentially just because they are brilliant movies (even if I am slightly ashamed to admit it).

Most of these fit the same mould. Awkward misfit girl finds herself and bags a cute as hell boy in the process. 14 year old me loves it. Even if 27 year old me thinks they are so unrealistic, really weird and I should probably grow up...

What A Girl Wants (2003) - It's On Prime
I remember buying this the week it came out.. I was 13. I loved Amanda Bynes (pre-breakdown) and I loved her in this. I still love watching her make a dress and ruin Peach & Pear's party, Colin Firth was the perfect charming goofy Dad, and the ending still makes me cry.

A Cinderella Story (2004) - It's On Prime
Chad Michael Murray at his peak. He is so cute in this movie. But I just love Hillary Duff in this. She is so sweet, and I always wanted her as my best friend. Sure this movie annoys me when he doesn't realise it's her - I mean why would you want to be with a boy that unobservant, I would have told him to do one lol - but still. Good movie.

Mean Girls (2004)
Iconic. Lindsay Lohan at her peak. You will struggle to find someone who hasn't seen this one and for good reason too. I never get bored of it. This one is definitely more about the friendships than the relationships, but that is one of the reasons I love it. The burn book will forever be iconic now.

Sleepover (2004) - It's On Netflix
This is such an early 2000's throwback, the styles, the phones, the computer. The concept. I love how fun this is. They all go out on a scavenger hunt, there is a cute boy, what isn't to love?

She's The Man (2006) - It's On Prime
Channing Tatum. Channing Tatum shirtless. Channing Tatum in the first movie I saw him in and fell in love at first sight. SWOON. He is the most beautiful thing. Plus that pizza restaurant scene when she flirts with the girls then dumps her brother's girlfriend... it is SO good. "And when my eyes are closed I see you for what you truly are, which is UUUGLAY - WE'RE DONE!"

Wild Child (2008) - It's On Prime
Not even going to lie, I still cry at this movie every time I watch it. I love watching her change from being a nightmare to being lovely. This movie is more about the friendships she builds with the other girls than the boy. Plus Laura from Love Island is in it, and now watching it that makes me giggle every time.

17 Again (2009) - It's On Prime
Zac Efron. That getting out the car scene. SWOOOOON. Watching the geeky friend and head teacher love one another has to be my favourite bit of this movie though, its fab! Amazing cast too. Endless giggles in this one, but I would be lying if I said the main reason I watched this wasn't for Zac at his peak.

Chalet Girl (2011) - It's On Netflix
My appeal of this one has to be the cast. The classic British feel, the Tesco delivery driver. I love the story, and I love the snow. This one isn't as well known, but I put it on constantly. I love how awkward she is, but most of all I love Bill Nighy.

The Kissing Booth (2018) - It's On Netflix
16 year old me loves Noah too. "Noah Flynn is Stupid Hot" agreed. Noah is SO cute. This is the fairy tale version of every hot slutty bad boy every teen girl thinks she can tame. Instead of being humped and dumped (which is the realistic outcome) he, of course, falls in love with her. I was shocked that they had sex to be fair, normally these movies avoid it, but lets be fair, it happens. Especially with drunk teens. I don't know why I love this one, (I do, it's Noah) but still.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before (2018) - It's On Netflix
AAAAAH this is so good. This movie makes me feel 14 again. This is the kind of movie I would have been obsessed with back in 2004. The cast is fab, the set is so good, and I love everything about the concept. A little different, and so much of the same - it is the perfect teen girl chick flick to watch (even if you aren't a teen anymore)

Have you seen any of these? What is your favourite Teen movie? Or do you hate them all?
