The Anti-Haul: Make Up I Probably Won't Buy

Have you ever read posts and thought *ooo they look nice, but no* well these are the things I look at - but couldn't actually bring myself to spend my cash on. Either due to price, shipping, or quality.

1. Colour Pop
Now I am not disputing the incredibleness of Colour Pop Cosmetics, I just don't have the time or the energy to be ordering from America, risking them being smashed to smithereens and then having to pay a customs charge for the privilege of it all, I just cannot be bothered, no matter how pretty the swatches are *sobs*

2. Tarte Shape Tape £28.00
In the UK I have not found anywhere that you can buy the concealer without having to buy the sponge too (I'm looking at you QVC) I don't want the sponge, I want the concealer. Plus its always out of stock in my shade!

3. Jeffree Star Cosmetics £14.00
Now I have bought from him before, but since the whole drama I just cannot find it in myself to give him any of my money - I just cannot back someone who I dislike as a person, no matter how good his liquid lipsticks are!

4. Kylie Cosmetics
*Gasp* I know, I know. But her things are SO expensive, by the time you have added up the product, the shopping and the custom charge you be as well buying a Tom Ford, and at least then I won't be disappointed by cheap ass packaging.

5. Urban Decay Liquid Lipsticks £15.50
(Please don't hate my Urban Decay) I love UD typically, I love their palettes their lippies... but the liquids have just been a fail.. I went to see them this week in hope that the reviews would be wrong.... and they just look bad... I'm sorry UD.

6. Tanya Burr Cosmetics & Zoella Beauty/Lifestyle
I just cannot handle either of them anymore, and will refuse to purchase anything they come out with now. I feel like the minute they launched their brands their YouTube suffered hugely, and the only time they made videos was when they were sponsored or they had brought something new out. I did a whole rant post about it here. If you want to hear my moan some more lol

7. The Beauty Blender £16.00
That's one expensive sponge. I know when I finally get round to buying it - it will be a life changer, but I know right now I really like my dupes (£3-£6 ones from RT, the Superdrug one, and TK Maxx ones) So I am scared that if I buy the real deal my cheap alternatives wont compare.

8. Anastasia Beverley Hills Cream Contour Kit (Light) (£39.00)
now this is an odd one, I really want to buy this, but I HATE the fact that you cannot buy the refills for the cream ones, even though they come out - and you can buy the refills for the powder. I want the refills. Just because I know I will use the darkest shade way more than the others, and I wouldn't want to pay £39.00 everytime I finish one shade. *cries*

If you liked this post check out this one (It's what I am picky about when it comes to makeup)

Which things do you like the look of but just wont buy? Let me know in the comments below :)

  1. I made a Colourpop order recently and as much as I loved the products, I don't think I'll be making another order any tiny soon! The customs are just too much! X

  2. This is such a good idea for a post! I wouldn't purchase anything from Kylie Jenner again either. Also, what did Jeffree do?! I feel clueless haha.

  3. I love the concept of this post. Totally agree with Jeffree Star, Kylie Cosmetics and Beauty blender. I just don't think they are worth my money.

  5. It was refreshing seeing this post, instead of the standard 'wishlist!' I admire you for not just following trends because they are 'cool' at this point in time! Looking forward to more posts! (Also, my faaavourite thing about you is that you're from Dundee, I went to uni there!)

  6. This is such a cool post idea! And I think I agree with you on nearly all of these. I want to try Colour Pop, but can't bring myself to spend all that money to get it over to the UK. And I'm not too fussed about Tanya, but I miss Zoella's old videos. I think I'm way too old for either of their products, so not interested at all!

  7. Totally agree! My wish list is quite big but shipping and things like that put me off. I have wanted to try makeup from colour pop and Sephora, maybe one day

  8. I don't feel as bad after reading this- I think the Kylie costmetics and Tanya cosmetics aren't my thing either as so overpriced and every Tanya Burr vid I saw was either baking or plugging in her own cosmetics line. Don't get me wrong I love the girls but im just getting a breather! Heard same reviews about UD and tarte so I probably won't invest in them either. I thought it was just me but I'm just glad there are others that won't think I'm weird for not liking what they do. Xh

  9. I am the same with Jeffree Star and anything Kardashian. One is a bully and the others, well getting famous because of a sex tape, sigh. I have never been a fan of Zoella and Tanya Burr, I just don't feel the sincerity from them.

  14. This is a cool post idea! I don't blame you for not wanting to purchase anything from Kylie Cosmetics.. They're too overhyped & pricey and in my opinion, they're products are not worth the hype nor the money.

  15. Same with Jeffree Star - I've been seeing a lot of posts saying he's a douchebag and I just can't bear to support someone with an arrogant attitude.

  16. The whole Jeffree Star thing occurred and I don't like him either and I've heard so many people fave about his products but I can never purchase from him because the dislike is real! But you have to try the beauty blender, I took the plunge and I don't think I'll ever go back to the other sponges!

  20. This is quite a funny post, I must say! And original, as well!
I have tried the beauty blender and so far, it's not worth the hype, to be honest. It does the job, but so do the others. haha

  21. I totally agree with this! Especially the Kylie's cosmetics and Jeffree Star. Lime Crime always have amazing sales where you can get liquid lipsticks for $5, or I just buy Make Up Revolution's lipsticks so what's the point haha!

  22. I definitely agree with Tanya Burr & Zoella. Unfortunately part of their originality has been swallowed up by sponsored content...
