4 MAC Matte Nudes + Swatches


Ok, so I have a big thing for Nude Lipsticks. It is the shades I own the most of - the ones I swatch first, and typically the first shade I will buy from any new collection launched. It just speaks to me. Plus I tend to go heavy with the eye makeup resulting in me wearing a nude lipstick most days!

Without even a shadow of a doubt I prefer Mattes above all other finishes - my lips are pretty naturally big - and I just think it suits them much better (plus whenever I wear a gloss or sheen finish I end up with it all over my face)

The MAC mattes are king of all Matte lipsticks, I feel like they have the best finish, feel and overall wear. But I would love to know if you disagree?


So here are the four in my stash that I look at and think "Do I really need all four of these?" - the times most sensible people will think they really don't need another very similar MAC lipstick... but I do not have this control. So here is the differences (even if they are subtle)

Honey Love  Light beige toned with rose
My little short and stumpy favourite. Sitting at NC15 my pale skin suits this as the perfect nude, but it really isn't for everyone. To me this is the one I reach for most.

Kinda Sexy Neutral pinky-rose
This is the newest addition to my collection, to me it is more orange based than pink, more warm. It looks really pretty on, very similar to velvet teddy... but I still wouldn't opt to just have one or the other...

Velvet Teddy Deep-tone beige
The cult classic. I am yet to meet someone this doesn't look good on. I feel this is one lipstick everyone needs in their collection, well earned the hype.

Whirl Dirty Rose
Whirl I feel was not worth the hype. I bought this over a year ago when the hype was all over this when Kylie had it on. I failed to remember that I am not a bronze goddess... more a pasty plain Jane, and brown lipstick isn't a good look on me. This is one I wish I had skipped on.

    These are gorgeous nudes! I have all but Honey Love. It looks gorgeous though! I wonder if would suit my skin tone, hmm..

    I've always been a matte girl myself too. They are the best kind of lipsticks and nudes are my favourite too! I've got honey love and I can find it can sometimes be too light for me but velvet teddy looks beautiful!

    Honey love is definitely my fave nude from MAC! I used to love Kinda Sexy but fell out of love with it, but I can't think why - defo's will be trying to rekindle the love! Haha.

    I've never dared to get beige nude lipsticks yet, I'm afraid of how they'd look with my skin tone. However, Kinda Sexy is gorgeous! That's my favourite shade out of the four.
