Urban Decay On The Run "Detour" Palette + Swatches

Oooooo Urban Decay.

It's been such a long time since Urban Decay really caught my eye. Ever since they changed ownership and directions they have been under my radar - just completely missing the mark, when I used to be completely obsessed with their products.

Their palettes haven't been impressing me as much as I would have liked them to over the past few years, just lacking creativity or playing on trends well after they have began, so I was shocked to be drawn to this one straight away - the first time in a long time I have even been to their counter.

I used loved their eyeshadow palettes especially. Their formula was the best for a long time - and half baked will forever be my absolute favourite shade. So when I saw this palette I had high hopes for formula, and it didn't let me down.

The way Switchback swatched would be the seller for me, with a white base and a duo chrome shimmer it was either going to be beautiful - or a complete flop. Luckily it swatches beautifully and applies just as well with a brush (and even better wet - let's be honest of course it's better wet.)

Off the Grid, Detour, Escape is the perfect base for any and every eye look. It has also been my go to this week - keeping it minimal on placement. Dash and 16th street are the perfect addition to add some shimmer to a simple look - and I know I already love a golden shimmer like Dash, which is very similar to half baked (only a tad lighter).

Plunge is the perfect pop of colour. I quite like doing a plain eye look then adding this to my lower lash line for something a little different. Such a beautiful metallic shade.

Overall, I'm really impressed with these little offerings from Urban Decay, and this one really is the perfect everyday palette for me.

Have you seen these in store yet?
