My Foundation Stash! (+ Swatches)

It's been a while since I chatted foundation, to be frank I used to find it boring. Beige products which just don't excite me. What has changed that is finding foundations which just work for me and my skin - it can completely change the way you view them, going from being happy with anything that matches and covers, to finding something that makes your skin look flawless and stays on aaaall day long.

so I thought I would take the time to talk through what is currently in my stash - either loved or neglected - this is what I have. I will be the first to admit I definitely use some far more than others - usually down to shade or my oily nose - but I have some definite go to foundations here - some which I will continuously repurchase thanks to their all round capabilities.

Becca Aqua Luminous in Light (£32.00) is without a doubt the least used in my stash. It isn't light. AT ALL. Plus the packaging is SO irritating. The joys of online purchasing. This was actually part of a bundle from QVC, so definitely not a regret, just wish the colour was correct.

The Too Faced Peach Perfect in Porcelain (£27.00) however is a regret. I HATE how dark this is for the shade name, it is completely ridiculous. It still angers me looking at how dark it is against my skintone. I only ever use this now to mix in with lighter foundations to match me. It's what I get for online purchasing foundation.

The IT Cosmetics CC Cream in fair (£30.00) is a good shade match, but really isn't the best on oily skin. I do love it for when I don't need a base to last longer than 4-5 hours, but I don't have high hopes for longevity with this one - unfortunately - because the finish is beautiful on this. Don't underestimate this one based on the name, it ain't no CC cream.

The Dior Backstage Face & Body in 1N (£29.00) is my go to for a lighter base. I love to use this on down days where I'm just not loving my skin au natural. With a good setting powder this lasts me a full day, which I love for a light coverage base.

The NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint in Finland (£30.00) definitely isn't a tint. This is pretty full coverage, and one of the reasons I love it. It is thick, and covers everything without feeling heavy or too much on the skin. I have loved getting used to using this one, but definitely need to use more to make a final judgement on it.

The YSL All Hours Foundation in B10 (£35.00) is really nice. The shades are perfect, the finish is full and long lasting, I can wear this all day without any issues at all, and I love how my skin looks wearing this...

But, it isn't the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear in 005 (£32.00). This is my second bottle. I love it so much I repurchased before I ran out. My skin is at its absolute best with this on. It is beautiful, it lasts all day, it covers everything, it doesn't melt off my skin, the shade is a perfect match, and I just LOVE it. I have recommended this one time and time again, without a doubt the best foundation I have ever used.

After writing up all of this and adding links I have realised I am definitely more inclined to pick up a high end foundation rather than a drugstore. I truly believe this comes down to shade range. Quite often shades in boots/superdrug just don't suit the shade I need, plus I gain far more excitement from the higher end foundation launches - I just love them.
