First Impressions: DHC Skincare*

I felt like I was the only blogger left who hadn't tried DHC skincare. I have seen the iconic cleanser everywhere now, so I couldn't wait to try it out along with the latest addition to their range - the Astaxanthin Collagen. So here is my thoughts and first impressions of them both, after using them for just over 3 weeks!

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil make-up remover completely dissolves all traces of dirt and cosmetics – even waterproof mascara and eyeliner – while nourishing your complexion with antioxidant-rich olive oil. Using dry hands, massage it onto your dry face, and it immediately goes to work. Add water and it transforms to a milky, vitamin-rich emulsion that rinses clean, leaving your skin feeling soft and nurtured; never dry or greasy. One try and you'll understand why it's the ultimate cleanser.

I am now fully understanding why this is loved by so many people. The formula is so beautiful. It removes a full face of makeup with little to no effort, but then also manages to not leave your face greasy - but instead leaves it feeling super clean, soft and smooth. All-round winner. The addition of the pump makes this the perfect package too - nothing worse than having too much oil everywhere. ICK!

Oh and I have oily/combo skin, if you are oily - please don't be afraid of oil in cleansers, you will be surprised at how much you might just love them, and they shouldn't make you more oily either!

DHC Astaxanthin Collagen All-in-One Gel tones, hydrates, brightens while fighting free radical damage. It features super antioxidant astaxanthin, a vitamin-like substance considered 6000 times more powerful than vitamin C. This multi-action gel cream absorbs deeply to moisturise and nourish skin. Collagen and elastin firm and hyaluronic acid helps skin maintain its natural moisture barrier.

I cannot speak for the claims of long lasting fights against radical damage - but I can say I do love the feeling of this on my skin. It leaves it feeling really moisturised and healthy. I have been using this just before bed as my final step, and I have been really enjoying it as my main moisturiser. The only issue I have with this is the smell - it's just not incredible. As someone who enjoys nice smelling things it makes me sad that it doesn't smell good - but this isn't a deal breaker in any way - just something to bear in mind if you like your products to smell good!
