Get ready for a very picture heavy post. But can you really blame me? This palette is perfection. So I thought I would take the time to swatch and review it, after me impulse buying this a few weekends ago!
Ok so first up the most common moan about Benefit is packaging. Sure it's cute. But it's bulky. This palette is bulky. So don't expect a slimline finish with this one, What I do love about it is it will now sit with my palettes rather than the single attempting (and not) fitting into my blush container.
I really wish benefit would swap into plastic. It's just frustrating!
DISCLAIMER:
What I would say about this palette is all of the shades included are part of the permanent collection, I would say if you have 2-3 of them already this palette is NOT worth it. And I would NOT recommend getting it. But if you don't have any of them already (like me) then it is so worth the price tag!
Hoola
Their star. The ultimate matte bronzer. Cult classic, and really is beautiful - even on my pale skin!
Hoola lite
Ok so I am NC15, 1N1, PALE. and this swatched looks pale on me. But trust me when I say - yes it looks like nothing, but trust me on your face it is awesome. Ever watched a youtube video of someone bronzing up their skin and wishing you could just do that - but know you can't cause your pale AF and would end up looking like an Oompa Loompa? No? Just Me? On my pale skin I have just found it to give the perfect warmth. But I would say anything above NC25ish won't like this. So it is really specific in who it is aimed at.
Galifornia
The hype around this one has been so much! I was so close to giving in to getting it too (the packaging put me off though - it wouldnt fit beside my other blush!) but I do love the colour of it. This will be the perfect shade for summer. Coral peachy goodness!
Dandelion
pinky perfection. I love how light toned this is - again perfect on pale skin. This is definitely more of an everyday kind of blush.
Rockateur
The darker blush, a darker colour, but is just the perfect touch to a more bold makeup look. I love this one, and I am now understanding the full hype around it.
Each pan is full size - no small sizing here!
The one downside I would say is it really is aimed at people who are paler, it wouldn't work for someone with darker skin, the hoola lite is beautiful - but it is restricting in its use, so bare that in mind :)

ReplyDeleteI think I'm just going to get the individual Galifornia blush instead (once I swatch it in person). I already have Dandelion and Hoola and the other two aren't to my taste, plus big boxy palettes tend to make my anxiety higher for some reason (the NARS Unfiltered being the exceptions) but I could see this as a really good palette for either Benefit junkies or people who need a starter kit. My first blush was Dandelion, and my sister got it for me, so I could see this as a good gift set as well.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a beautiful palette. Galifornia looks so, so pretty! x

ReplyDeleteI have their normal hoola and have always loved it with a light hand but now that they've produced their lite version I am intrigued because like you I'm an NC15 girl as well! You've got your moneys worth here for sure!

This is really good value but I have all of them apart from Hoola Lite which I think would be too light for me! xx
ReplyDeleteBeautylymin
This is such a beautiful palette oh my GOD why have I not seen it yet? Benefit really do know how to make great sets though! I could not bring myself to spend that much but I may have to go and check out Hoola Lite. Love your photos so much! xo

Oh wow!! The photos are so beautiful and all the shades are really really good :) Galifornia is amazing! Also I love the light version of hoola!! xx

I love Benefit blushes, Hula (the original) is too light for me so I don''t think this would be worth it for me. Have to say Galifornia looks beautiful but Rockateur is stunning and my favourite blush shade. Gorgeous post and photos Erin, hope you are well xxx

I have seen this palette before but I haven't picked it up, I prefer them seperatly. Like you said, if you already own one or 2 from their permanent collection it isn't really worth it :)
ReplyDeleteI love coralista from benefit but I'm so eager to try galifornia now!xx

The detail of the Galifornia and Rockateur blushes are amazing. As for colour I think I prefer Dandelion. Thanks for sharing your honest thoughts about the pallete.
