Vichy Dermablend Full Review & Swatches*

I was contacted about a month ago now by Vichy asking if I would like to try out the new Dermablend Formula, I jumped at the chance to try this out. I have seen so many people rave about this now - And I was curious to see if I would love it as much as others do.

CHOOSING A SHADE

Vichy allowed me to choose the colour to best suit my skintone. I hate matching my shade, as I can often be a total nightmare to match. I decided that I would probably be somewhere inbetween Porcelein and Opal. This is more of a lightweight finish I thought this would be perfect for summer, so decided to go for opal (here is hoping for a good summer Scotland!)

I would say the colour range has to be the downside of Vichy Dermablend - they could definitely use more of a range, but even saying that the colour does blend well. As always I have included a swatch matched up to other foundations I have. Hopefully this helps someone when it comes to choosing a shade, (and comparing it to others you may have).

APPLICATION

At first I was a bit confused on what tool to use to apply it. My usual full coverage face brush just didn't work well with it's lightweight formula & my RT stippling brush left it streaky. I had a holy grail moment with my beauty blender though. All of a sudden it just blended beautifully, leaving my skin looking flawless but not giving the usual feeling of being heavy and clogged.

They also sent me the Setting Powder from their Dermablend range too. The Setting Powder is loose, something I have never tried before. Needless to say it was a messy start, powder everywhere but my face. But after a few times I really have gotten the hang of it. It sets beautifully, a true translucent powder is hard to come by - but this is definitely one worth investing in.

THE RESULTS

Now, I always test out foundations on super busy days, and this one was no exeption. We went to swimming lessons (hello hot & humid room) followed by a shift at work.

For being a lightweight foundation I wasn't expecting it to hold up as well as my full coverage foundations - But I was in shock when I got home, I mean look at the before and after, there is areas where it has come away, but overall I am really really impressed by the results. Not only does it wear well, it doesn't seem to leave me patches in places where it has come away (ie my nose) it just seems to sink into my skin, and if anything I would prefer that than the patchy places with foundation build up.

So overall you can see how well it has preformed. And paired with its sister setting powder - it really is a duo to be beaten this summer for fresh flawless skin.

Have you tried out Vichy's foundation? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below
