Kiehl's in Dundee Opening and Skin Consultation

My local Debenhams is having the best revamp yet - we are getting additions of Kat Von D, Bobbi Brown, MUFE, and of course Kiehls... Needless to say we are all seriously excited! *squeel* So the lovely ladies at Kiehls invited over some local bloggers to their opening night - and I had such a good time I thought I would write a post on it.

This post isn't sponsored, but all the mini/sample items shown were within a goodie bag for attending. There was no promise of a post, I just loved their skin consultation! Now onto that...

So all their staff are trained to help you to make the most out of their skincare range. They start off by asking you what you are currently using. The best thing to do here is to be completely honest. I had to admit my failures at even washing my face most mornings #badblogger.

They will also ask you the problems you have with your skin, and where you would like to see improvements. They also ask what you want from skincare - which to me was the game changer. It's all well and good telling me I need a 45min routine, but with a life that is as hectic as mine - if it doesn't take less than 5 - realistically, i'm not doing it!

They then do a fancy PH balance test that will tell you where you need work on your face - which to me really opened my eyes a little on the skincare I need to be using.

My test showed that despite my oily AF T-Zone, my cheeks are dry, making me firmly in the combo section - this was a shocker to me, I thought I was just oily!

So my needs were:
Combination Skin
Quick & Easy
Reduce Break Outs
No Greasy Feeling

Kiehl's then recommend a skincare routine for you from their collection, this was my line up.

A refreshing and intense cleansing foaming face wash for normal to oily skin. This soap-free, creamy gel formula activates with water to create rich foam. Gently lifts away impurities, oil and replenishes skin with essential moisture for skin looking instantly refreshed and revitalised. Apply small amount to clean fingertips. Gently massage into damp facial areas in upward, circular motions. Avoid immediate eye area. Rinse thoroughly or remove excess with damp face wash.

Leave-on serum, formulated to accelerate the cell turnover process revealing fresher, smoother, younger-looking skin. Enriched with sustainably-sourced quinoa husk extract, its powerful exfoliating properties help release dull surface skin while visibly evening skin tone and refining the feel of rough texture over time.

This oil free, lightweight, moisturising lotion helps visibly reduce excess oil on the skin's surface, leaving a shine free and balanced appearance. It contains imperata cylindrica root extract, antarcticine and vitamin E. Our non greasy hydrator traps moisture to deeply condition skin and restore its moisture balance helping skin to look fresh all day. Apply to cleansed and toned facial skin day and night as needed avoiding the immediate eye area.

he readily absorbed elixir works all night to replenish the skin with moisture and recover radiance, leaving it smoother, softer and younger looking by morning. Enriched with a blend of naturally derived ingredients including squalane, evening primrose oil, omega-6 fatty acids, essential oils and lavender. Our formula provides a boost of intensive moisture to dehydrated skin. This concentrate instantly penetrates into the skin and is designed to work at night. Get a hydrated, supple and soft skin and rest assured you can say goodnight to a tired looking complexion
Needless to say ill be in on pay day!

  4. Ah lovely! I use FeelUnique's pick and mix service so I got a couple of Kiehl's samples sent this month, but the super multi corrective cream sadly broke me out pretty badly! I've heard midnight recovery is amazing though and definitely want to try that out soon!
