8 MakeUp Packaging Complaints

Packaging Complaints

I love Make Up, I love buying it, looking at it, using it - you name it. It is something that brings we great amounts of joy in life. BUT.... there is some things about it that really, really irritate me. And I just wish brands would listen to us when we say WE DO NOT WANT IT.

So here are a list of things that irritate me to no end, I hope you enjoy....

1. Security Stickers
ARGH!!!! So easy to take the security stickers off, so practically pointless if you are a criminal makeup-stealing mastermind. But for the rest of us who pay for our makeup we are left with an ugly ass - impossible to remove - sticky mess on everything we buy. I spent 30 mins attempting to clean my new loreal mascara - and it still looks a mess. WHY, just why.

2. Blush Brushes in Palettes
I can understand why a cheaper drugstore brand would put a brush into a blush palette - I get it - if you were new you might not have one - but shockingly none of the drugstore brands do this... so why on earth does brands like Chanel, Estee Lauder, Dior, all put crappy brushes into their palettes? To make their tiny blush look bigger (and maybe worth their higher price tag)

3. Sponge Applicators in Expensive Palettes
So I pay £43.00 on a Dior Quad, and they give me a sponge tip applicator. WHY?? They are as much use as a chocolate teapot, I would have preferred a bigger pan or an actual brush. Don't be cheap Dior, and I know they are not the only ones.

4. No Pump
Pay £30 for a foundation - then have to pay £3 for a pump. Just include the pump, its mean not to. Nars, Estee Lauder, MAC, all bad for this - no one likes having too much foundation on their hand.

5. The Stopper
So most brands will put into their foundations/concealers a stopper to remove excess product - which is great, until you get to the last of the product. The stopper is then removing everything that is left, so you end up having to remove it and almost removing your finger in the process. Or worse - you cannot open it at all, leaving you to wonder how much is still left in there. *sigh*

6. Not Seeing How Much is Left
I HATE not being able to see when I am going to run out of a product, foundations, liquid lipsticks, concealers, it really stresses me, to be left concealerless is a stressful situation!

7. No Shade Name
No one wants to call their favourite lipstick "772" or "109" why do brands do this, I want a name to call my beloved shade. And as a blogger this is a nightmare - having to look up shade names to talk about them on a blog - make it easier for us! Chanel, Dior, YSL all do this - and it is irritating!

8. Impossible to Open
Nothing upsets me more, than a palette that requires lots of effort and nails to get into... because it is pretty much guaranteed that at one point or another I will end up with a nail mark in my perfect palette. *cries*

So there is my 8 reasons for hating Make Up packaging... what are yours? Let me know in the comments below :)

  5. These are all great points! I absolutely hate it when the high end brands don't give us a pump with our foundations. Such a piss off! Also the no shade name is annoying as well. It's so hard to remember compared to if they had actual names.

  8. These are all so true! I hate when shades don't have names and not being able to see how much is left is such a pain, my favourite concealer is L'Oreal's Touche Magique and it's great apart from the fact I have no idea how much is left! Lovely post x

  10. That's exactly why I don't have NARS Foundations. My first foundation was the MAC Face & Body but the bottle itself is squeezable.

  11. This is such a brilliant post and so relatable. The annoying thing about the pump is that I bought my MAC foundation and a pump to go with it but the pump ended up breaking so I had to bin it...I still haven't caved in to get another pump haha!
