Seventeen Mega Matte Review + Swatches*

Seventeen has to be one of my favourite brands from the "Drugstore" seriously I talk about them all the time on my blog. So whenever they launch a new product I am first to boots to have a look.

They contacted me a few weeks ago now asking me if I would like to pick 3 colours from their new MEGA MATTE range, and wow was I excited to try them.. I only wear matte lipsticks, so this is the perfect launch for me.

So I chose "Nude News", "Looking Buff" and "No Corals". When they arrived I then went to boots to check out the rest of the range in person... and well... this happened.

Any beauty lover will know the urge to swatch new lipsticks when you are in a boots. It is a MUST. So I had already covered my arm in swatches, when I decided heck, just swatch them all and bring my arm home to photograph.. sure I looked crazy.. but it was worth it for the blog right? ha. At least now you can see them all, and decide which colours are for you :)

So here is a swatch photo of every single lipstick in the new collection, and I am happy to say they are smudge proof! I was really impressed that the arm swatches lasted until I got home.. it was a sign of good things to come...

So while I was in boots I also decided to buy a shade too, I decided on "Roses are Red" plainly because that swatch is stunning, so so beautiful - I couldn't not get it.. now onto the lipsticks themselves....

Looking Buff - Nude News - Roses are Red - No Corals
Out of the four I own without a doubt the standout shade to me is Looking Buff. This is the one that I am wearing almost daily since it arrived, and this is the one to me that everyone should own. It is the browner/dusty (hella lot cheaper) version of MAC Mehr. - If you follow me on snapchat you are probably sick of seeing me talk about this one. #sorrynotsorry - it is lipstick perfection.

Nude News is more of a pink than a true "nude" definitely made for us pale girls, and perfect for just popping on with a bold eye. This would look amazing with a pink smokey eye. I did a one brand face using this one on snapchat, the results were really pretty :)

Roses are Red is the ideal orange based red colour. I really really love it. I usually can't pull off a red, but the formula with this just makes applying and wearing this ideal.

No Corals is BOLD. Bolder than I expected. Luckily it is coral enough to look summery and bold at the same time. This one is made for holidays... (or sunny days if we are lucky enough to get them)

As for the formula... I would describe it as half way between a MAC Matte and a MAC Retro Matte, not as drying as the retro, but thinner and matter than the creamy matte formula... it is super lightweight, almost as if you aren't wearing it. Definitely buildable and really easy to apply.. overall the formula is a winner for me.

While you are in looking at the lipsticks make sure to check out the Long Lash too, right now it is on offer for half price, and this is actually a repurchase for me.. which is a huge deal for mascara to me! But for £3 it is well worth picking up... even if you don't really need it right now.

Make sure to check out the new MEGA MATTES here for £3.49... yup. That isn't a typo, £3.49. They have a sale on most of their items right now, so it is well worth popping along to your local, or checking them out online.. (I promise this post is not sponsored, I just love a bargain ha!)

Oh and if you spend over £6 you are also getting a free Super Lash
