10 Reasons why having Thick Hair SUCKS.

As someone with stupidly thick hair, I hear a lot how lucky I am, how nice my hair looks and how much they wish they had my hair.

Well here is the things you don't think of, the reasons why I wish I had normal hair.

1. Hair Cut & Colour is EXPENSIVE.
So every time I book a colour I always need to tell them I have thick hair, it can mean that I am charged for extra dye if they need to mix more. Which they always do.

2. Brushes, Drying & Straightening
Drying my hair takes around 20 minutes, if air drying ALL day. By the time my hair is finished drying I need a shower, through sweating it out with the hair dryer. Straightening takes around 10-15, I straighten my already straight hair to remove the volume, you can see my routine here.
And anything other than a paddle brush is pretty much useless. And it ALWAYS has hair on it.

3. Shedding
My hair sheds more than your average dog. Seriously I have no idea why I am not bald. I should be with the amount of hair I loose. It comes out in clumps, and can be found everywhere. In the shower, sink, bed, washing machine. Everywhere. But mostly on the floor. Scaring the crap out of me thinking they are spiders. Yup!

4. This.

5. It's like wearing an oven on your head.
SO HOT all summer all I can think is how badly I want to bald myself just so it doesn't seem so hot. You can forget wearing your hair down if its hot. It just doesn't work.

6. Hair styles.

Aww your thinking having thick hair means you get to do cute stuff with it? wrong. Mine refuses to listen, and if you clip it up it fall out. Oh and pleats will be so short but so thick. Not cute. Well kinda cute. But in a different way. No boxer braid here. And you can just forget hair extensions, unless you want to make 6 full sets with your own.

7. Headaches.
Without a doubt the worst part, I cannot wear my hair in a proper pony all day, after about 6 hours my head hurts so bad with the weight of it. Buns are better, but even then your bobble has to be so tight to manage that its doomed.

8. Baby Hair
This is what I call the little whispy bits of hair you get? you know the annoying ones that make your hair look silly when you have it tied up? well my hair is COVERED in them. It's a nightmare whenever you want your hair to do something, they have other plans.

9. Curls are cute right? No. No they are not. #bighair
This is a properly old picture, but I have never properly curled my hair since... IT just gets BIG. Wide. Awful lol

10. People
Every single time I go to the hair dressers I say "I have thick hair" and they just go "mmmhm sure" then they get it wet and you see the look of horror and fascination with it, its always "oooh your hair IS thick" Yes, it does weigh a tonne, and usually everyone in the salon then wants to feel how heavy it is *sigh*
I also get this if I wear my hair in pleats or in a single pony. It really shows how thick it is, then everyone wants to touch it.

Ok its not the worst thing in the world, but can be so annoying! What's your hair like? Thick? Thin? Let me know in the comments below :)

  4. Mine is thick but not too thick, thankfully! It takes forever to dry and because I have naturally curly hair it takes almost an hour to straighten. Thankfully I don't have a ponytail problem, your hair must be thicker than mine! I like using scrunchies, they're less tight and don't leave a line in your hair.
