Product Review: Naked Basics

I talk a lot on MakeErinOver about new and exciting things, so I decided today to talk about something I use every day... but I don't seem to give it the credit it deserves.

The urban decay Naked Basics palette was designed as an eyeshadow palette, but I can honestly count on one hand the times I have actually used it as that. It sat until I had a moment of realisation. My eyebrows are so brown they are almost black, they are also really long hair, and thick.. this makes finding a brow product a total nightmare.

I love shadows for my brows, it just gives them a little extra something, so I usually use any brown in my eyeshadow palette, but this Naked Basics palette has become my go to, not only does it define, it highlights and conceals too... an all round winner (even if I wont use it on my eyes!)

So here is how I use it.

I will take a mix of Faint and Crave to fill in and shape up my brows. I will then use Venus to highlight my brow bone, it really is perfect for this, pure shimmer which just reflects beautifully without clashing with any eyelook.

I will then take Foxy over my undereye, who needs a ben nye banana powder when you have this? Maybe not - but it has the same effect. W.O.S is also fab to conceal spots if you want a more glowing look without using a setting powder too.

The only shade going to neglect is Naked 2, maybe I should actually use it as an eyeshadow? hmm.

So there is how I use my beloved Naked Basics palette, even if it is a tad unconventional.

Is there anything you use for a different purpose than intended? Do you have this and maybe use it for its correct purpose? Let me know in the comments below :)

  1. I love using powder for my eyebrows, I feel like it seems much more natural. I never thought about using one of my palettes for it though! Great post!

  9. I've had this palette for quite some time now. I think it's the perfect palette for traveling as it is great on brows and eyes in my opinion. Obviously you can't create any special looks with this, but a basic everyday makeup is more than possible. I've been using the Too Faced Natural Matte palette more than this one lately, but I might just have to take my Naked Basics out again :)
    Thank you for the review<3
